Burning Man – Rites of Passage

Burning Man

Burning Man

“The man burns in 9 days” ….. I’m stoked to find out what that means!!!! This year I got invited by my two most amazing friends to go to one of the most extraordinary festivals in the world, Burning Man. In this particular festival or more like an epic adventure consists in camping out for 7 days in the desert. You have to try to survive with your community…. helping one another as well as creating, paiting, drawing,, dancing, singing, watching movies, attending talks… and much more. At Burning Man there is no money, no stands selling $100 bottledĀ  water… this festival is about sharing and exchanging , so if you want water you either exchange it with someone for whatever you can offer or bring some yourself. I have never been before and I really don’t know what to expect, but they say that nobody can really describe what Burning Man is like…..this year the theme is “Rites of Passage”…. sounds like I’llĀ  have to pack up plenty of food and water… and see what happens!!! see you there ;)

Here is a little bit about Burning Man: (from Burning Man website)

“Trying to explain what Burning Man is to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind. In this section you will find the peripheral definitions of what the event is as a whole, but to truly understand this event, one must participate. This site serves to try to paint a picture of the Burning Man experience to those who are new to the project, as well as to give those participants looking to keep the fire burning in their daily lives an environment in which to connect to their fellow community members” (...continue reading…)
